Confirmation
[The Faithful] are more perfectly bound to the Church by the sacrament of Confirmation, and the Holy Spirit endows them with special strength so that they are more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith, both by word and by deed, as true witnesses of Christ.
Preparing to Become True Witnesses of Christ
Formal preparation at St. Stephen for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation begins in the fall of a student’s 7th-grade year. Candidates for the sacrament must be enrolled in Confirmation Preparation. Families of 7th-grade students who are signed up will be mailed Confirmation enrollment forms that fall. The actual date of Confirmation is determined by the Diocese of Grand Rapids and is normally announced at the end of November. Confirmation will take place in the fall of the the students 8th grade year.
